Nairobi, Kenya – Delegates of the USK Foundation met with Olga Skaredina, Science-Policy Thematic Facilitator for the Children and Youth Major Group to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), during the 6th Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6).
The assembly was convened by UNEP at its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.
This meeting provided a valuable opportunity to engage on the integration of science and policy in environmental decision-making, with a particular emphasis on amplifying youth and future generations’ perspectives. Discussions explored ways to strengthen intergenerational collaboration, evidence-based approaches, and inclusive mechanisms to address global environmental priorities.
Such interactions highlight the critical role of youth-led advocacy and multi-stakeholder partnerships in driving forward sustainable solutions and ensuring diverse voices contribute to international environmental governance.
