Kampala, Uganda – In a significant step toward regional collaboration, delegates from the USK Foundation held a strategic consultative meeting with Hon. Felix Okot Ogong, a distinguished Ugandan economist, Member of Parliament for Dokolo South, and a prominent representative in the Pan-African Parliament (PAP).
The meeting focused on the intersection of economic development and cultural preservation across the East African region. As the local implementation partner for the United Ancient Nations (UAN), the USK Foundation shared its strategic roadmap for uplifting indigenous and marginalized communities—a mission that deeply resonates with Hon. Ogong’s extensive background in youth affairs and regional integration.

- Youth & Economic Empowerment: Drawing on Hon. Ogong’s experience as a former State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, the delegates discussed adapting UAN’s “digital empowerment” and “entrepreneurship frameworks” to benefit young people across the Ugandan border.
- Pan-African Legislative Alignment: Exploring ways to advocate for indigenous land rights and traditional ecological knowledge within the legislative framework of the African Union, through the Pan-African Parliament.
- Regional Integration: As a seasoned entrepreneur and economist, Hon. Ogong provided valuable insights into how UAN’s “indigenous-centered models” can foster self-reliance and community-led growth within the East African Community (EAC).
