Bridging Advocacy and Action: USK Foundation Engages Lake Victoria Communities Following Facilitated Cooperation Framework

Kisumu, Kenya – Following the facilitation and support of a strategic cooperation framework aimed at uplifting the Lake Victoria region, USK Foundation delegates moved directly into the field to engage with local riparian communities. This field visit marks the first phase in implementing the facilitated initiatives through direct grassroots consultation.

The delegation, joined by local representatives, toured key sites along the lake to assess the immediate needs of Indigenous fishing and trading communities. The primary focus remains on applying the United Ancient Nations (UAN) proven indigenous-centered models to address local challenges such as water security, nutrition, and economic self-reliance.

By meeting residents in their own environment, the USK Foundation is ensuring that the implementation of these programs remains ethically grounded and responsive to the lived realities of the people it serves. This approach aligns with the foundation’s broader mission to advocate for the rights of indigenous peoples while fostering sustainable development that respects traditional ways of life in Kisumu County and the wider Lake Victoria Basin.
