Facilitating Global Exchange and Indigenous Recognition: USK Foundation Engages Deputy Director of Immigration

The USK Foundation recently held a strategic consultative meeting with Mr. Charles Munyao, the Deputy Director of the State Department for Immigration and Citizen Services in Kenya.

As the USK Foundation solidifies Nairobi as its continental hub for operations, streamlining the movement of international experts and the recognition of indigenous delegates is paramount. The discussions focused on aligning the United Ancient Nations (UAN) international framework with Kenya’s immigration policies to foster seamless cross-border cooperation for sustainable development.

Key strategic synergies discussed include:

  • Supporting the Nairobi Regional Office: Coordinating immigration protocols to facilitate the presence of the Foundation’s professional staff and delegates from the UAN member communities (including Nigeria, Guinea Bissau, and Tanzania), ensuring Nairobi effectively serves as the center for continental indigenous advocacy.
  • Documentation for Marginalized Groups: Exploring collaborative pathways to address documentation challenges faced by indigenous and marginalized communities. This aligns with Kenya’s 2010 Constitution, which mandates the protection of minorities and ensures that all citizens can access the rights and services enshrined in the Bill of Rights.
  • Intercultural Dialogue & Regional Mobility: Enhancing the mobility of indigenous knowledge holders across the East African region to support USK’s advocacy and training programs, bridging ancient wisdom with modern regional integration.
  • Security and Integration: Aligning the Foundation’s humanitarian and peacebuilding programs with the Ministry’s mandate for national security, ensuring that the preservation of cultural heritage contributes to a stable and inclusive society.

By engaging with the leadership at the State Department for Immigration, the USK Foundation is ensuring that the legal and logistical framework is in place to support its USD 10 million annual budget initiatives. This partnership reinforces Kenya’s position as a global leader in indigenous rights, providing a welcoming environment for the “Ancient Wisdom” that will drive the continent’s sustainable future.
